Following an investigation into the funeral sector by the Competition & Markets Authority (CMA), several issues within were highlighted. This culminated in the Funerals Market Order 2021, which makes it a legal requirement for all funeral directors in the UK to:

• Have a Standardised Price List (SPL) published online (within one click of the homepage);
• Have a SPL clearly and prominently on display in branch windows and in branch;
• Have the required crematorium information, payment terms and disclosure information published online and in branch;
• Have prepared a register of charitable donations (deadline 1 October 2021); This Order has been put in place to make it easier for those arranging a funeral to be able to compare funeral pricing options from different funeral directors in a like-for-like manner.We at Harrison Funeral Home fully support the CMA Order and welcome standardized pricing.
