DIRECT BURIAL

Our Direct Burial funeral option starts at $3,350 and INCLUDES the price of the burial plot.

This makes a Direct Burial the most affordable type of burial available since the cost of a plot is included  – this is usually a significant additional associated fee.

Where price is a key factor and a direct cremation is not wanted, or indeed not permissible for religious or cultural reasons, our Direct Burial solution is a great option.

It is a simple and dignified send-off, whilst also being more eco-conscious with the burial taking place in a woodland graveyard. It can be an unattended funeral, or family may wish to attend to say a few words graveside, or for an additional third-party cost, we can help you arrange a Minister or civil celebrant for something more formal.

Our Direct Burial option works beautifully as is, though it can be added to in any number of ways, based on your requirements. We can work with you to customise the funeral, for example, by arranging flowers, helping with a dove release, providing memorial cards, and incorporating a colour theme.

At Harrison Funeral Home, we offer you an award-winning, safe pair of hands for all of your funeral arranging needs.

For details about what exactly is included in the Direct Burial option, please have a look at the service/price breakdown below, or give us a call 24/7 to discuss your requirements.

HELP WITH FUNERAL COSTS

You may be entitled to a Funeral Expenses Payment (also called a Funeral Payment) from the govenment if you receive certain benefits and need help to pay for a funeral you’re arranging.

See website for more information (external link): Get help with funeral costs (Funeral Expenses Payment).

It may also be that the deceased person has a prepaid funeral plan in place, in which case the costs of the funeral would already be partially or fully covered. Assuming a paper trail has been left, the next of kin should have access to this information.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We work with two specific cemeteries to be able to offer this type of burial. Both are woodland cemeteries and as such, the graves are marked with either a tree or a wooden plaque. Woodland burials help protect an area of natural woodland, giving it a purpose that leaves it mostly undisturbed.

We are in discussions with other cemeteries to see which other options we may be able to provide in future.

There is no catch. We recognise that not everyone has the means to afford a burial, because the cost of plots can be prohibitive. Cremation is not permissible in some cultures and religions, and we firmly believe that everyone should have the right to access the type of funeral required for a loved one. We believe that our Direct Burial provides a fair solution to this.

The starting cost for a plot locally in Enfield/Winchmore Hill is £4,500.
